This building is gone
A Kingdome stub is not a leftover from a place that no longer matters. The night still happened on this SoDo footprint, even though the dome does not.
The King County Multipurpose Domed Stadium opened in 1976 and was the shared home of the Seahawks, Mariners, and SuperSonics. Tickets said Kingdome. Football, baseball, basketball, concerts, and an NCAA Final Four all sat under the same concrete roof.
The Mariners played their last Kingdome game on June 27, 1999, and moved next door. The last event in the building was the Seahawks–Dolphins wild-card game on January 9, 2000. The dome was imploded on March 26, 2000.
Lumen Field occupies the Kingdome's footprint. T-Mobile Park sits immediately south — it was already open before the implosion — and its parking lots share the old stadium district with the football ground.
