The last North Stars home game was April 13, 1993, a 3–2 loss to Chicago. The franchise moved to Dallas. The empty arena was demolished on December 13, 1994.

Minnesota beat the Islanders 4–2 in Stanley Cup Final Game 4 at Metropolitan Sports Center, avoiding a sweep. Steve Payne scored the winner; Don Beaupré stopped 33 shots. The Cup was later clinched on Long Island, not here.

Minnesota beat Pittsburgh 3–1 in Stanley Cup Final Game 3 at Met Center. Mario Lemieux did not dress. Dave Gagner, Bobby Smith, and Gaétan Duchesne scored; Jon Casey stopped 28 shots.

The Penguins won the Stanley Cup with an 8–0 Game 6 at Met Center. Tom Barrasso made 39 saves. Mario Lemieux had a goal and three assists. The North Stars were shut out in their own building on the last Cup night the Met Center ever saw.
